Justify the post
We look at what is actually being protected, who the plausible adversary is, and what an armed officer changes. If the answer is ‘very little’, an armed post is not the right recommendation.
An armed officer changes the risk profile of a site, which is exactly why the assignment should never be automatic. We start with why the post needs that level of cover and then supervise it closely.

Higher-level deterrence, carefully supervised
Armed posts are appropriate for a limited set of environments: cash-in-transit routes, high-value equipment yards, sites with a documented threat history, or locations where local law enforcement response times make a delay unacceptable. Where the assessment does not support an armed post, we will tell you and propose an unarmed or patrol-based alternative instead.
Every armed officer we assign holds a current California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services firearm permit, carries qualification records we can produce on request, and works from written post orders that define the use-of-force policy, the escalation path, and exactly which situations are a 911 call rather than an officer response.
Three stages, documented at each one so you can see where the coverage stands.

Permit status, training records, and site-specific instruction are verified before the first shift, not after an incident review.
Armed posts get more supervision than unarmed ones — supervisory visits, report audits, and scheduled reviews so standards do not drift between contract renewals.
Armed posts carry a premium because of the additional licensing, insurance and qualification requirements, and because fewer officers hold the permits. The honest comparison is cost against the loss exposure of the specific site, so we price it as a separate line item rather than assuming every property needs it.
No. Armed posts are the minority of what we staff. Most retail, office and residential sites are better served by a professional unarmed presence, access control, and patrol discipline.
Send us the address, the hours of exposure and what you are protecting. You will get a written scope, not a brochure.
